G. Gregory Haff

President of the National Strength and Conditioning Association
Associate Professor, School of Exercise and Health Sciences, Centre for Exercise and Sport Science Research, Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Western Australia

I would like to take this opportunity to formally welcome you to the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Japan website. One of the great honors of being President of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is the opportunity to engage and work with strength and conditioning professionals from around the world. As we move into the future I look forward to creating strong relationships with the members and staff of NSCA Japan. NSCA Japan was the first international affiliate of the NSCA and in 2016 will celebrate its 25th Anniversary. Over the past 25 years NSCA Japan has become an integral part of the NSCA’s mission to disseminate scientific evidence that can translate to applied performance applications within the profession of strength and conditioning. I urge you to take advantage of NSCA Japan’s website as it serves as the gateway to many NSCA meetings, symposia, and workshops offered within Japan and throughout the world. By being an active member of this organization you will have the ability to enhance your abilities as a strength and conditioning professional. Strength and conditioning professionals encompass a diverse membership which includes those working with athletes at all levels of competition, the general population, tactical athletes (Military, police, fire and rescue personnel) as well as special populations (Youth, cardiovascular and other diseases). If you work within any of these areas NSCA membership can enhance your ability to develop scientifically sound training programs that are based upon the latest training theories. In closing I look forward to the opportunity to meet you in Japan or at another NSCA event somewhere else in the world.
